In partnership with MyRacehorse and Lees Racing, Newcastle Racecourse is providing Novocastrians with the opportunity to take an even greater part of the race day action by owning an interest in Newcastle's own racehorse, Newy.

Locally trained by 18-time Group 1 winning trainer Kris Lees, Newy is a 2- year-old colt born out of Knit 'N' Purl and by Flying Artie, the same sire as Artorius and a half-brother to stable star Brudenell.

Novocastrians can get on board and take up the opportunity to own a piece of Newy for just $89 via the MyRacehorse app and website. Newcastle Racecourse CEO, Duane Dowell, expressed the additional benefits Newy will provide to both owners and racegoers on a race day.

"Those who choose to buy a piece of Newy will not only receive a portion of the prize money in their MyRacehorse wallet, they also could be entered into a ballot to receive race day tickets and may even get the opportunity to get right in the thick of the action in the mounting yard on a race day," said Mr. Dowell.

"There will also be additional owner's parties, training reports and videos on the horse via the MyRacehorse app and exclusive insights and content from Kris Lee's Racing,"

"For racegoers and owners alike, there will be additional buzz about Newcastle Racecourse when Newy races as all will experience the excitement of watching the horse race on the track. We are hoping that racegoers will even get onboard in chanting Newy's name as he crosses the finish line.

Newy will likely barrier trial at Newcastle Racecourse in January 2025. MyRacehorse is offering a 15% promo when a customer purchases two or more shares in Newy in the cart at once until 11:59pm on the 4th of December.
