Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Albury, Armidale and Bairnsdale.

ALBURY: RACE 3 @ 2:15 PM

TANTALUM (12) returned from a six-month spell for new trainer Garry Kirkup last start and made an immediate impression, beaten narrowly in a three-way go over 1400m at Canberra after giving away a big start. Draws perfectly and will enjoy the extra 100m so she looks a great chance to break through in a pretty thin maiden. MAYFAIR HOTEL (10) is back after a 164-day absence. Finished a distant second when resuming from a break last prep over 1400m at this track. The engagement of Danny Beasley is a positive lead. The logical danger DANCER ONE (1) improved sharply last start when lining up for only the second time, going to the front and holding on well for second over 1400m at Wagga. Should be competitive again. SPECIAL SPOT (2) has not appeared since finishing down the track on debut at Benalla in October. Early money suggests he has more to offer this time. HIGH GARDEN (7) is ready to improve third-up over a bit more ground.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tantalum.

ARMIDALE: RACE 3 @ 2:35 PM

BILL PEYTO (5) only the three wins from 54 starts and has an okay record this track and trip. Taken back from the wide draw when an eye catching sixth over 1600m at Moree on April 2. Gets weight relief with the claim and gives the impression the distance will suit. ZOUCAN TOUCAN (10) looks ready to win after turning his form around at his last two outings. Knuckled down late when a narrow second over 1930m at Narrabri on March 23. A repeat effort will see him hard to hold out. OUR GIRL EVE (3) returned to form with a fast finishing 0.6 len victory over 1630m at Grafton on April 1. Apprentice rides again and should be even stronger over the 1900m. Go close. NORMAN (1) strong through the line when third over 1600m at Moree on April 2. Can take a hand in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Bill Peyto to win.

BAIRNSDALE: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM

LOVE THE FALL LINE (9) debuted over this trip at Cranbourne and boxed on well for second, beaten 1.3 lengths. Better for that experience and with even luck from the wide gate she can take this out. MOUNT DOVE (12) started even money first-up at Mornington over 1200m and wasn't beaten far. Better for that run and could improve sharply here. DIANCIE (5) debuted at Cranbourne when well supported but was just fair. Can improve and happy to give another chance here. I'M BACK IN TOWN (7) can run well fresh.
SELECTIONS: Love The Fall Line to win.
