Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Caulfield, Doomben, Morphettville and Belmont.

ROSEHILL: RACE 8 @ 3:45 PM

TOM KITTEN (6) Spring Champion Stakes winner resuming as a gelding from a four-and-a-half month break. Frustrating last prep in G1 company and looks to have returned a more dynamic prospect judging by his two impressive trials. Can finish over the top of these. AMOR VICTORIOUS (10) underrated gelding resuming. Can take control early from the good draw and prove hard to catch. Two latest trials were sharp and clearly come back much stronger. Group 1 winner HINGED (4) has a sound first-up record and gets in light with Osmond's 3kg claim. Fitted with two trials and best form can see her figure prominently. The chances don't end there. CUBAN ROYALE (12) hasn't been beaten far in his past couple despite being big odds. Capable on his day and he's fit enough to cause an upset. Worth keeping onside.
SELECTIONS: Tom Kitten to win.

CAULFIELD: RACE 3 @ 1:35 PM

LOVAZOU (6) has won both starts this time in and looks nicely placed to continue the streak. She was far too good for Waimarie here last start with that horse well-backed and winning last weekend. She maps ideally from the gate and looks hard to beat once more. JUSTDOIT (1) has won her past two, just proving too strong from on-speed at Flemington last time out. Up in the weights here and drawn awkwardly but must be considered. ALECTRONA (11) is a nice mare with a good record, coming off a soft win at Pakenham Synthetic. Can measure up. ITHADTOBEZOU (7) can be forgiven for the last start behind Justdoit. She did start $4 there and looks an improver.
SELECTIONS: Lovazou to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 7 @ 3:53 PM

HATCHET (2) put the writing on the wall last Saturday when he stoked up from last on straightening to be beaten a head over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. Better placed over this distance and his record at Doomben is hard to fault. Ready to win. ROCKRIBBED (4) showed a nice turn of foot then dug deep to just prevail in a Class 6 here at this trip two weeks back. Gets in 1kg lighter after the claim so he is a serious chance once again. PIZARRO (6) hasn't been far away of late and his chances improve on a rain-affected surface. ATLANTIC OCEAN (8) chased Rockribbed home here last time. Going okay and is an each-way proposition.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Hatchet.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 8 @ 4:47 PM

AVIATRESS (12) was the one everyone wanted to follow from the Lightning Stakes when flashing home from the rear to just miss Lingani, with the smart Kuroyanagi splitting them. Meets the winner 3.5kgs better at the weights this time and is drawn to settle much closer to the action. Bad luck her main threat. LINGANI (6) drove hard up the inside to get her head down to take out the Listed feature last start. Has been in superb form this campaign and deserves plenty of respect but is unsurprisingly worse off at the weights this time. CLASSY KENNY (7) is as true as the day is long. Always worth keeping onside along with HOWL (9) who boasts a strong fresh record and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Aviatress best on the card.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 8 @ 5:39 PM

CRESCENT CITY (7) kept on well from midfield last time out, finishing 2.8L off the winner over 1400m. Fitter and further are both big ticks, with Pike remaining in the saddle from a good alley. Drops sharply in weight and can turn the tables on his rivals with a win today. ADMIRATION EXPRESS (5) looks to be recapturing her 3YO form following some hiccups over the past 12 months, just missing in a good race over the mile here 21 days ago. CJP can have her in a good spot in running and if she runs up to what she produced last start, she'll be right in the finish. TRIPLE JAY (4) beat his rivals in a similar race over 1400m last start when kicking away from the front to win by 1.1L. Out to this trip for the first time which is the question, but he's relatively bombproof and will make his own luck. Can win again without surprising. UPPER LIMITS (9) is ready to peak now third-up and won't be far away. DESENNEA (8) can build on a good win last time out.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Crescent City.
