Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Doomben, Newcastle, Morphettville, Moonee Valley and Belmont.

RANDWICK: RACE 6 @ 2:40 PM

ATC Sires' Produce Stakes winner MANAAL (1) returns from a spell and looks to have come back even stronger after impressing in two trials. Has to give her opposition weight but she has the acceleration to finish over the top of them with the fast tempo anticipated from the good gate. Group 3 placegetter AMEENA (4) returns from a four-and-a-half month break. Showed ability in all four runs in her first prep including an unlucky ninth in the G2 Percy Sykes over 1200m here on April 13. Latest trial was full of merit and clearly J Mac has an opinion of her. Group 3 placegetter HALLETT (6) resumes after struggling in the heavy (9) going when third here in the G3 Kindgarten over 1100m on April 6. Impressed in her two trials and will prove hard to catch from the inside gate. ERNO'S CUBE (2) was rewarded for her consistency when taking out the G2 Reisling over this track and trip last time in. Strengthened over the break and will be doing her best work late.
SELECTIONS: Manaal to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 1:03 PM

OUR ANCHORAGE (8) absolutely smashed them by six lengths at Hawkesbury two back before being right there at Randwick last time out. Drawn to get all the favours in running from the inside marble and should give this a mighty shake. OLD SONG (12) has won around this circuit and draws low. In the mix on best form. SECURITY ADVISOR (9) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Our Anchorage to win.

NEWCASTLE: RACE 7 @ 4:15 PM

GOLD DUST (3) has been nursed up to this trip after three steady results from a spell. Poorly drawn but has genuine claims now. KERVETTE (5) arrives here in honest form with handy form lines. Does tackle tougher but can measure up. OBVIOUS STEP (1) has been very honest of late and backs up quickly out of a strong race last week. Nicely placed after the claim. Can handle these.
SELECTIONS: Gold Dust win.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 7 @ 3:52 PM

THE GUAVA (10) was a handy winner fresh and then went close to making it two on the bounce at the latest. Fitter again and doesn't lose much in the saddle with Holder taking over from Toeroek. Leading player. SIXTEEN REASONS (11) is clearly a talented type but continues to be her own worse enemy settling too far back. Doesn't look like she'll be settling closer from the draw but she does have the extra 200m reel them in. Watch for her climbing over their backs late. TIPPA (7) closed last prep in terrific form and is in the mix if he can pick up where he left off.
SELECTIONS: The Guava to win.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 8 @ 5:15 PM

BOLD BASTILLE (9) is a very speedy filly who resumes here as a 3yo, getting in with 50.5kg at weight-for-age. She's only tasted defeat once in five starts, which was in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude behind Hayasugi when having issues. 1000m around here is ideal and she'll be very hard to catch with Kah aboard. MORNINGTON GLORY (5) is the obvious danger. Forgive the first-up miss on a tricky track, he was dominant at this track trip winning a BM100 last time out. Will be charging at the filly late. SANS DOUTE (7) resumes. She was flying last time in, her streak narrowly coming to an end at G3 level in Adelaide before a spell. Can figure. GOLDEN BOOM (3) is a talented sprinter down from Queensland who should measure up well.
SELECTIONS: Bold Bastille to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 5:50 PM

SOSO LUCKY (10) has won on wet tracks both race starts and has been doing it easy. The promising mare will be fitter again and looks well-placed to keep the ball rolling. CRUISE TO VICTORY (4) rates well on the near miss over 1400m when he was heavily bet again. Maps for a soft on-pace run and it's hard to risk the potent Pike-Williams linkage. NO BRAINER (6) didn't finish it off behind Deferred but the win prior at this distance reads well. He's been kept on the fresh side and can make the trifecta with average luck in the run. MISS DRAKOVA (2) is going well enough to consider.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Soso Lucky.
