Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 24.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Albury, Narromine and Pakenham.
ALBURY: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM
ALL ASTERN (2) sound return over this track and trip when she stalked the pace to go under in a tight finish when second on June 7. Undefeated second-up and should prove too strong for these today. CHAMPAGNE SHARON (3) disappointed as fav when dropped out sharply to finish seventh behind All Astern at latest. Well drawn again and senior rider on today. WANALOAN (10) snagged back from the wide gate and failed to get into the contest when eighth over this track and trip on June 7. Low gate helps with the claim. MAGMETRIC (1) disappointed as fav when returned with a fading eighth over 1200m at Wagga on June 17. This looks easier and placed second-up in the past. Improver.

NARROMINE: RACE 1 @ 12:30 PM
CAUSATION (3) has switched stables since returning from a 13-month spell with a respectable fourth over 1000m at Cranbourne where she led until the dying stages. Gets in beautifully after the claim. Sure to prove tough to catch in a race made a lot easier with some key scratchings. FIREFINCH (12) is third-up after a long break. Failed last time but worth another chance with a couple of gear changes and a cosy run likely just off the pace. HE'S ALL STYLE (1) returns from a 23-week spell. Will be better for the run but might be a surprise packet with blinkers on for the first time. JUST JOAN (6) was beaten a long way at Dubbo last start after some sound lead-up form. Draws a good gate for a change so should give a good account. FLIGHT OR FIGHT (5) has been kept fresh since resuming with a second over 900m at Brewarrina 37 days ago. Up in grade but capable of a top-three finish.
SELECTIONS: Causation should be far too good.
PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
MARAVICH (4) has placed in both runs this time in and looks nicely placed to peak here. He's been beaten under a length at both starts, the latest over this trip on heavy ground at Ballarat when second. He maps ideally from barrier three here with Currie sticking. Clear top pick. SPECIAL DANCER (11) looks a clear danger. Two runs in have been good, starting $1.80 second up at this track when third. Drawn awkwardly but with even luck can repay the faith. LINKIT (2) was okay first up at Mornington and will strip fitter from the inside draw. Solid each way hope. MADE THE EFFORT (10) is a 12-start maiden who is coming off a solid placing at Sandown Lakeside. That reads well. MEXICAN FIDDLER (5) next best.
