Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Moonee Valley, Muswellbrook, Queanbeyan, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Naracoorte and Wodonga.

CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 8:30 PM

PIER PRESSURE (4) clearly strengthened over the break and relished the class drop when a smart 2 len winner over 1600m at Scone in easier company on November 19. Finds a nice race tonight with the claim and can win again in this tougher event. LENAPE VIBE (9) scored a dominant win over this track and trip last time in and strips fitter after resuming with a plugging sixth over 1300m at Rosehill on November 19. Should race a little closer and will relish any sting out of the ground. Improver. LIKE A TIGER (2) lightly raced gelding who ran on late first-up, before failing to get into the contest when a poor tenth over 1600m at Warwick Farm on October 23. Fitter now and expecting Rawiller to get the best out of him with the possibility of some sting out of the ground. HELLO WORLD (3) returns from a 37-day let-up. Total forgive from the wide gate when a tiring sixth over 1300m at Warwick Farm on October 23. Drawn out again and finds an early contest here.
SELECTIONS: Pier Pressure to win again.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 9 @ 9:45 PM

THE OPEN (1) returns for the Payne partnership and is as consistent as they come. Yet to see the Valley straight but boasts a strong record over the journey and gets weight relief with the 3kg reuniting, who has ridden the gelding well prior. Strips fitter for two soft trials. Can get the job done fresh. PANTELONE (9) showed good early toe when resuming at Caulfield but was overrun late. Strips fitter and is drawn to advantage. Sure to be thereabouts at the business end. ALONG THE RIVER (8) comes through some nice form races that stack up well for this. Could land in a tricky spot from the draw but if the gaps appear he can make them pay. VONGOLE (5) has been solid in his two runs back without scoring. Likes this track and trip and is value play.
SELECTIONS: The Open to win.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 4 @ 2:45 PM

YOU THINK YOU KNOW (2) jumped favourite on debut and got the job done, leading all the way at Scone. He looks to have plenty of class and he should be prominent from the alley again. Form from behind him has been strong and he can bring up back-to-back wins. SYDNEY GAL (8) resumed with a good effort at Gundagai when running on well from the back. Can sit closer today with the extra trip suiting. She won't be far away at the finish. ON THE QUIET (1) was a winner at this trip and track last time out and now gets Bullock in the saddle. Ticks plenty of boxes. DASH BY (5) returns here after five months, comes into calculations.
SELECTIONS: You Think You Know win again.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 1 @ 1:14 PM

KING TAURUS (1) resumes with a near miss at Goulburn on a heavy track. He will be fitter and won't be disadvantaged if the rial comes. Rates well and can go one better. MAKTABI (3) peaks and has been nudged out here at his last two starts. He will skip over and ride the speed and is sure to give a sight. MIDNIGHT LUNA (4) has been within range at Canberra and finally draws an inside barrier. Keeps the 1.5kg claim and will be fitter again. SHALMUM (2) is running out of chances but has pieces of form that would see her in the finish. Needs a good ride but Owen is a positive jockey booking.
SELECTIONS: Backing King Taurus.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 7:52 PM

ARAMINTA (11) just missed the placings in town last time out and has placed three from four around this circuit. Drawn to get the run of the race from the inside alley and expecting a strong appearance in this contest. PIVOTAL LAD (6) has won over this distance range and strips fitter second-up for Gollan. Right in this. FOURANDAHALF (8) looked handy winning over this track and trip on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. No surprise to see a forward showing. CARRAVILLA (15) has placed two of three this time in and is a must for the exotics. FLYING SHELLY (12) is having her first run for the new stable and a watch on betting is advised.
SELECTIONS: Araminta to win.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 3 @ 3:06 PM

BIGCAT (5) has gone to a new level since shifting from Victoria and after a couple of decent efforts at Mackay, he has gone back-to-back on this course, each time more easily than the other. He is only facing a slight rise in class and the hat-trick beckons. MONEY MAN (3) has not had much luck in his last couple of starts from wide gates. He drops in class and from a superior gate, he can bounce back into the money. GRAYSONG (1) finished runner-up in his first start in the area after shifting from a Victorian yard before the start of the season. He slides down in class and can go one better. DECIDUOUS (2) resumes from a spell and showed a lot of pace in his last couple of starts before having a spell. It is hard to get a line on him without a public trial but he has a good draw and if fit, he can figure in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Bigcat to win.

NARACOORTE: RACE 1 @ 3:10 PM

CAPE SIZE (2) has raced his way into form and ran his best race yet since moving to South Australia when finishing runner-up by a head at Mount Gambier a fortnight ago. He is down slightly in class and Is poised to go one better. DARK LAGER (3) has needed plenty of time to mature and could be finally putting it all together as a 7-year-old gelding after finishing third in the same race as the top pick. He was runner-up here before that and should be right in the thick of things again. COLD TRAIN (16) has only been lightly tried for a 6-year-old gelding and he is resuming from a spell. He might need the run but this field is not strong so include him in all combinations. THAVMA (6) will be peaking third up and he did not have much luck last time out. Each way value in this.
SELECTIONS: Cape Size to win.

WODONGA: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM

ATAEGINA (7) improved again missing a whisker at The Valley in a 70 against her own sex and was likely disadvantaged by a firm track in an Ararat 64 following. She won't know herself back to 58 grade and Egan is reunited. Deserves to win and gets her chance. FANG IT (3) is also better suited at this level. Finally draws an inside barrier and his best form would see him right in it. STAR BUYER (2) brings two narrow defeats and keeps the handy 1.5kg claim. Has an awkward gate but is a chance if things work out. SLEEPER (5) hasn't done a lot since coming from New Zealand but he's in a leading metro yard and they're persevering. Has the first-time blinkers applied and a leading course striker goes aboard and will give him every chance from an inside barrier.
SELECTIONS: Ataegina appeals.
