Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Grafton, Kyneton, Port Lincoln.

GRAFTON: RACE 3 @ 3:25 PM

CANTANKEROUS (4) was edged out in a thriller on debut over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. Settled back in the field and failed to run at his only other appearance over 1110m at Doomben. Significant class drop today and is a big chance to break the ice. CRAZY MIKKI (6) ran a better race last time when a closing fourth over 1000m at Taree. Her two runs on good tracks have been failures which is the query, but a step up to 1200m looks a positive step. ELLRO (8) resumes. Opened the maiden prep with a placing at Moree. Trialling very well for new trainer David McColm and is worth plenty of thought. GERRY'S PICK (12) did her best work late on debut over a shorter trip here. In the mix with some natural improvement to come. First starter CLASSIC SHIRAZ (11) has been trialling okay and is worth some thought with the help of the inside stall.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Cantankerous.

KYNETON: RACE 3 @ 1:50 PM

Price-Kent-trained CHAPARRO (5) debuted in a strong form race in town and improved off that placing at Pakenham. He will likely give away a start but he's promising and finds a winnable assignment. ARC DE PUISSANCE (1) was quickly back on track when narrowly beaten at Warrnambool as a short-priced favourite. He maps well and has plenty up his sleeve. SUPREMACY (8) resumed for Price-Kent and raced well at Echuca on debut. He's sure to have come on and the first-time blinkers applied is a signal of intent. Maps well. MRS PENNY CRACKER (10) rates well on the first-up-placing and will be better for it. The extra metres suit and she'll likely come late.
SELECTIONS: With Chaparro.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM

THE HASS (3) hasn't done much wrong in his last two without getting the verdict. The form around him is sticking up. He will only need to hold his form to prove very hard to beat. MESSERSCHMITT (2) was a barnstorming winner here last start when coming from a long way back. Rochelle Milnes who has four wins when partnering stays on. Expecting a bold showing. TYDEUS (8) hasn't been far away recently including last time out when second over this track and trip. Shoulders a handy record here without winning and he should run well. ARTFUL AMBITION (1) improved nicely here last start and should be nearing his peak now. Is a course and distance specialist, so sure to be competitive.
SELECTIONS: The Hass to win.
