Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Bunbury, Ipswich, Muswellbrook and Bendigo

HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 4:05 PM

SETOMBE (6) started heavily in the red, ($1.70 fav) when a disappointing seventh over 1300m at Warwick Farm on June 26. Previous two runs were sound and can return to form in this easier contest over her preferred trip. TO THE EXTREME (1) lightly raced filly from the Ron Quinton yard with a ton of upside. Nice return with the 59kg when a plugging third over 1000m at Kembla Grange on June 20. Broke her Maiden status last time in second-up. Key runner. IMPACTFULL MISS (8) two runs back have been promising and a win looks imminent. Showed plenty of fight to the line when a narrow fourth over 1000m at Wyong two weeks ago. Handles all conditions and maps well again. NIGHTINGALE (5) is back for her third prep and has plenty of potential. Fitted with two searching trials and expected to come out hard and play a leading role.
SELECTIONS: Setombe to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 7 @ 3:34 PM

DARK THINKER (11) peaks off a tidy effort at Gatton over a mile. She is in a top metro barn and will appreciate the step up in distance. She needs a good ride but the 27% stable striker JGC sticks aboard and will give her every chance. FLAMINGO BEACH (12) went okay at Doomben and then delivered a big Maiden win in the Gold Coast poly rising to 2000m. She is likely to push forward and fitter would be a hope if that works out. DON QUIXOTE (7) didn't enjoy the poly track but showed more at the Sunshine Coast  prior. Finally draws a handy gate and the step up in trip suits. ENUNCIATION (3) has been off his peaks but will present at peak fitness. He may sit closer today and can't be ruled out.
 SELECTIONS: Backing Dark Thinker.

 BENDIGO: RACE 9 @ 4:00 PM

STRUCK GOLD (4) is a consistent 4yo gelding who resumed from a spell and won nicely at Sale, scoring by two lengths as favourite. He's shown good ability, especially on wet tracks, and rates nicely to go on with the job here. ARIZONA ACTIVIST (9) was well beaten as a $1.80 favourite at Ballarat Synthetic last start. He's won on a synthetic track before so the reason for that effort is unclear, but his form prior was good enough to take this out. OVER YONDER (7) has won 2/3 starts this time in, scoring by 1.5 lengths at Wangaratta last time out. More depth here but he's got upside. TAPO (8) steps up to 1300m after looking unsuited staying at 1000m last time. She can improve. PREVAILED (10) next best.
 SELECTIONS: Struck Gold to win.

BUNBURY: RACE 7 @ 3:30 PM

ARNRAY (5) is better than he showed last time out when well beaten in Saturday company. His efforts prior, particularly at this course were great and he should be able to find the front from an inside alley. Troy Turner has a successful record when partnering and he can return to winning ways. DASH OF BRANDY (6) is ticking along nicely, finishing in the placings at her past four outings. The wide draw doesn't matter as she tends to get back anyway and she closed off strongly from well back last time out. Expect her to be flashing late in the race. QUEEN OF JERUSALEM (8) got the job done by 0.7L here 11 days ago and drops in weight for today's assignment. Pike will need some luck from a tricky draw, but she rates well off the last start win and a repeat effort will see her go close once again. BEERMULLAH (4) can bounce back after a disappointing effort last time out. BEAT THE BRO (2) wasn't far away last time and is worth including.
SELECTIONS: Arnray can get the job done.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 6 @ 3:10 PM

IN MY DREAMS (7) deep into the prep and returned good final splits when a slashing third over 1000m at Wyong on June 27. This is much easier and won in good style over this track and trip three back. PROVENCAL (12) lone victory came at this track four-back and reunites with winning 3kg claim apprentice. Winkers come off today and can stalk the fast tempo. NO SECOND THOUGHTS (8) returns for her second prep after showing ability last time in. Since fitted with two recent trials and a forward showing is anticipated. SIGSWORTH (10) at his top for this and gets in light with the 2kg claim. Go on placing two back when assessing his chances.
SELECTIONS: In My Dreams to win.
