Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 08.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Gundagai, Mudgee, Bendigo, Sunshine Coast, Kalgoorlie and Alice Springs.
GUNDAGAI: RACE 5 @ 4:10 PM
MASTER ARTIST (6) is a huge chance if he has any luck at all from the wide gate. Hit the line well in both starts including the latest where there was a big gap to this. Hard to hold out. MO CENT (1) placed in all three runs last time in and while he's had his chance he's not been beaten far. Fitter for a recent trial and good chance here. RILEYCAT (12) is an interesting first starter in a good yard and she hasn't trialled since a quiet one at Canberra back in April. Big market watch. HELL'S VIXEN (11) and MARY LE BONE (3) are each-way chances.

MUDGEE: RACE 5 @ 3:50 PM
AIMPOINT (2) kept fresh for this and has a good record on his home track. Sat on the pace when a gritty third over 2000m at Coffs Harbour o August 2. In peak form and reunited with Braith Nock who won on him three starts back. Looks hard to hold out. DREAM GAME (4) racing in a real purple patch this time in and will find this easier after finishing fourth over 1400m at Moree on September 1. Maps well and should be in this for a long way. TOUCH OF NAVY (1) has the three wins from his last five runs and comes out of a strong contest when third over 1600m at Scone on August 30. Backs-up quickly and will play a leading role.
SELECTIONS: Aimpoint to win.
BENDIGO: RACE 7 @ 4:45 PM
BELLALIQUE (11) had been threatening at Geelong before a plainer effort their last time stepping up to 1512m and she may have had excuses. Maps for a soft run and with a senior hoop going on a much better effort is anticipated. IGOTCHA (6) resumed for the premier barn with a solid placing at Bendigo and the longer journey will suit. Has an awkward barrier but keeps Coffey and will keep improving. AMARYSSO (10) just missed on the synthetic second-up finding more like his best. She's likely to give away a start but she will be fitter again and her best turf effort would see her very competitive.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Bellalique.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM
FLY FIFER (3) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory with two consecutive runner-up finishes and strikes a very winnable contest. Doesn't need to improve much to be shedding the maiden tag here. RHUVAAL (2) has placed two from four overall and will be at peak fitness for this. Should be hitting the line with gusto. OUR ESPRIT (5) strips fitter third-up from the spell and looks a must for the exotics players. LET'SSHOWEM (4) rounds out the selections from the inside alley.
SELECTIONS: Fly Fifer to break the maiden status.
KALGOORLIE: RACE 7 @ 6:25 PM
The feature event and ADMIRATION EXPRESS (4) looks ready to end her winning drought. She was gunned down last start in a high rating effort and she looks back to her best after some hiccups. Should be prominent in the run again for CJP and will take plenty of catching from the front. STARRY HEIGHTS (10) finished behind Admiration Express last start but is trending nicely this time in. Now gets Pike in the saddle and a good track may hold the key. Nicely weighted and can get the job done. ANOTHER CHINO (3) should be ready to go now third-up into the campaign and can feature. RED CADILLAC (9) is racing well and is worth thought.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Admiration Express.
ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 1 @ 3:05 PM
RED WRAITH (2) led and belted the 70 graders at Darwin and then was narrowly beaten here behind Flying Start heavily bet. The extra 100m suits and he can make amends. FLYING START (1) settled back and finished powerfully to win that race. Spiked his figures and is the threat on that effort. LUSKIN HERO (3) is a former Queenslander who was okay first-up and then had no luck against the above pair. He has plenty at the sleeve and fitter has to be kept very safe. RAIN'S GIFT (5) is a former Victorian who was plain first up. Has the blinkers first time applied and can do better.
