Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Flemington, MorphettvilleDoomben and Kalgoorlie.

RANDWICK: RACE 10 @ 5:25 PM

MORAVIA (5) underrated gelding who finally showed what he's capable of when stalking the good tempo for a determined 2.25 len victory over 1200m here on September 21. Finds a slightly tougher race today but can make it two straight from the good gate. OSTRAKA (4) exciting gelding who continued where he left off after surging late out wide on resumption with a dominant victory over 1100m at Rosehill on September 14. Goes equally as well second up and looks set for a big prep. BRIASA (21) undefeated in four runs and has a stack of upside. Showed a good turn of foot when resuming with a slick win over 1100m at Rosehill in BM78 company on August 31. Kept fresh and must be kept safe if he gains a start. Multiple Group 3 placegetter INHIBITIONS (17) resumes after finishing runner up at Eagle Farm in strong company at her last two starts. Has the two good trials under the belt and Craig Williams rides on the limit weight. Must respect.
SELECTIONS: Moravia to win.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 3 @ 1:30 PM

Liked the last start Sale maiden win of SCARY (5). He didn't beat much but ripped home in some big late splits and put a good margin on them over 1732m. There isn't much difference between maiden and Listed grade for these 3yo Derby hopefuls. SERGEANT MAJOR (2) was great fresh in the McKenzie Stakes before struggling in the Guineas Prelude. Now up in trip, he'll improve sharply. LAVALIER (4) was well backed to win the Derby Trial here and was okay in fifth. Has the run under the belt and can be better for it. GIDDY UP WARRIOR (3) was also good in the Derby Trial and has some claims. KEENELAND (6) looks an improving type.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Scary.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 1:12 PM

GOLDRUSH GURU (1) opened this prep with a couple of wins over 1250m then stepped up to 1550m last start but found Talisay too good on the Parks circuit. Will take a bit from that hit-out and Johnstone's 3kg claim is a big help. TALISAY (4) took a sit then quickened impressively to win a BM68 over 1550m on the Parks track last time. Meets Goldrush Guru 4kgs worse for a two-length margin so she might need to improve a little to win again. Maiden ATHANATOS (2) has been in the money at all five runs this prep, the latest over 1420m at Flemington as a $2.15 favourite. Expect that form to stack up in Adelaide so he gets his chance. DARKNCONFIDENTIAL (3) dominated in a Murray Bridge maiden recently. Faces a much stiffer test today but he is heading the right way. STAR CASINO (5) would need to improve at least ten lengths to beat any of these home.
SELECTIONS: Backing Goldrush Guru to turn the tables.

DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 3:08 PM

COUNTYOURBLESSINGS (3) has returned in fine fashion stringing back-to-back Canterbury victories together and is racing with a lot of confidence now. Gets 3kg weight relief with the claim and is expected to be right there at the finish again. AERIAL DANCER (10) has won three of four over this distance range and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Looms as the main danger. The well-related OUTLAWED (5) (half to G2 winner and G1 placed Mamaragan) loves it here at Doomben with two wins and two seconds from just five outings. Has to be included. MOSZUR (8) is first-up but the form she showed when last in work was good enough to feature in a race like this. Can run a race while fresh. CRAZY TRAIN (4) next in line with Maloney in the stirrups.
SELECTIONS: Countyourblessings to add to the picket fence.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 4 @ 4:14 PM

FULL OF MERIT (5) resumed in good order at Northam when sticking well from the front, beaten 1.9L as favourite when overrun late. Form out of that has been franked and Pike remaining in the saddle is a good push. Fitter now and looks ideally placed today. KIRALUI (2) ran over the top to score at Bunbury in a CL5 last time out following some good runs at Belmont prior. The draw is a niggle, though she's racing well and still has upside being relatively lightly raced. Can put her best foot forward. SECRET IDENTITY (4) was only 1.3L off the winner in a similar race last start at Belmont and he should be fitter for that effort. Ready to peak now third-up and he is a track and trip winner previously. Nicely drawn and won't be far away. REIGN OF FIRE (1) was good in Open company last start and just missed the start prior. Worth plenty of thought. PEARLY NUGGETT (3) is ticking along nicely without winning and is worth including with Chris Parnham in the saddle.
SELECTIONS: Full Of Merit goes on top.
