Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 29.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Grafton,Swan Hill and Rockhampton.
GRAFTON: RACE 1 @ 1:15 PM
WRITTEN FAME (2) consistent gelding who was narrowly beaten with the 59.5kg in the heavy (10) going when second over 1200m at Murwillumbah in BM66 grade on October 15. Backs up quickly and the firmer surface helps with the 3kg claim. The one to beat. PIXIE HALLOW (4) sound return from a long layoff when spearing across to lead before knocking up late when second over 1007m at Taree on September 24. Fitter now and he has a nice record over this track and trip. MONTE DRIFTER (7) races best with his runs spaced and undefeated at this course. Anchored with the 58kg when running on late to secure second over 1205m at Coffs Harbour on September 5. Well weighted with the claim and can take a hand in the finish. DUSAN (1) resumes today with good fresh figures. Back without a trial and must be kept safe from the low draw.
SELECTIONS: Written Fame to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Grafton Computer Card.
SWAN HILL: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
Competitive. LADY CEDERBERG (5) peaks for a leading metro barn and assess her on the near miss here two back over this distance. Maps well today and keeps the 1.5kg claim. She has the first-time winkers applied and is a solid each-way play. SIMPLY SPARKLEZ (2) has been around the mark and has a sharp record at this track/trip. Races forward and has been freshened. Coffey sticks aboard. JUDGE KELLIE (3) resumes and is in good hands. Not sure the inside barrier will suit but she finds easier grade and Currie is a positive jockey engagement. IMMORTAL WEAPON (6) won his Maiden comfortably at Mildura first-up and impressed. Fitter again and is a chance to take the next step.
SELECTIONS: Having something on Lady Cederberg each way.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 6 @ 5:45 PM
DEVIL DEVIL (8) has plenty of ability but is still learning as he proved in both of his starts this season, winning fresh up and then finishing runner-up last time out. On both occasions, he raced greenly and should be a lot more settled down third up. He carries 2kg less this time and is the one to beat. DEFROSTED (10) let down strongly from well back to score by over a length here last start. She carries only 51kg this time and is more than capable of having the last say again. THE HAIRDRESSER (9) showed ample promise last season before training off and having a spell. She will be a lot stronger this term and even without a public trial, she can figure in the finish fresh up. A market watch is advised. BOLD AND SMOOTH (5) next best.
SELECTIONS: Devil Devil to win.
