The Adam Durrant trained Silver Speck has returned in great order this time in and appears set to break back into the winner's stall at Ascot on Saturday.

Having only missed the money once in eight career starts the son of Patronize has proven a model of consistency and appears set to relish the step up to 1500m.

Ridden cold at his past two starts, Silver Speck has proven quite the eye-catcher having made up plenty of ground to finish a close second in both.

It is these two performances which suggest he will relish the step up in trip up on Saturday and if successful it should also see him record a new career peak having recorded the same rating at his past three starts.

The Durrant stable is in great form this season striking at 25% and more notably is striking at 33% with horses rising between 200m and 400m.

Peter Knuckey links aboard Silver Speck for the first time on Saturday and is currently striking at 21% for the Durrant stable and should look to settle just off the speed from the good draw.

Currently installed a 5-2 chance seems a more than generous gamble as we have him rated closer to 2-1 and are more than happy to take the odds currently on offer.

On paper there appears to be good speed engaged which should allow Silver Speck to work home strongly into the finish and prove too good for his rivals.

The Michael Lane trained Spin Da Wheels resumes in the last race on Saturday and appears well over the odds at his current quote of 9-1.

Returning from a five month break the son of Hard Spun proved very consistent last time in and with form around the likes of Thateldo and Midnight Shimmer he does appear very well placed down in the weights.

On Timeform weight adjusted ratings he sits second to only Amorino on career best form however given the latter has yet to produce that level of form in WA it further highlights how well placed Spin Da Wheels is in this affair.

From the gun draw he should be able to position up nicely just off the speed and prove very hard to hold out especially with the aid of Chanelle O'Grady's three kilogram claim.

We have him rated closer to a 4-1 chance and a more than happy to bet up each-way at his current quote.

While an eye-catcher last start behind Dawn Approach we can't justify Black Heart Bart's short quote on Saturday in the fourth event.

On raw form he has to springboard a further five pounds to trouble his more proven rivals on Saturday and although he is capable we can't justify him being favourite in the event.

We have rated closer to a 7-1 chance in the event and will gladly work around him at his current quote.

Mountain Haze, Cut Snake and Ruling Force appear more logical betting propositions at this point in time.
