The Adam Durrant trained Silver Speck was a moral beaten last time out and can atone at Ascot on Saturday when set to contest the first leg of the quaddie.

Having now finished second at his past four starts it is clear the son of Patronize is well overdue for his fifth career victory and does appear very well placed on the weekend.

Held up badly when entering the straight Silver Speck only managed to draw clear late in the piece flashing home down the outside to only be narrowly defeated.

Although unable to salute the judge he was successful in recording a new career peak and does appear upon to further improvement on Saturday.

In nine career starts he has only missed the money once and while drawn a touch awkwardly he should settle back off the speed and with any luck in the straight he should prove very hard to hold out.

Currently installed a 5-2 chance seems a more than fair gamble as he is rated a $2.30 chance in our market and presents a great overlay.

The Simon Miller trained Darlington Abbey may have been below her best in her last few outings however it is hard to ignore her class.

Given a nine week freshen up leading into this the daughter of Stratum does appear better suited dropping back to 1000m having placed in all four attempts including two victories.

On best form she rates well clear of her rivals and is another who presents a great overlay given she has been installed a 9-2 chance and we have her rated a 7-2 hope.

From the wide draw she should look to roll forward and prove very hard to hold out.

The Bob McPherson trained Bachelors Prospect has proven quite impressive in his two career starts to date however the fourth event isn't as straight forward as the market would have you believe.

We have rated at best a $2.30 chance on bare form and the idea of taking less than even money about his chances seems well under the odds at this point in time.

He lines up against two smart last start winners in Piccolo Joy and General May and hence is worth taking on at the short quote.
