Word Of Mouth has won three from four since going beyond the mile and he looks well placed again on Saturday.

Monash Stakes Day at Caulfield Picture: Racing and Sports

Word Of Mouth won a narrow verdict over Levanti at Flemington last time, that pair clear of third, and despite a swing in the weights today he is tipped to confirm that form.

The solid figures returned there would suggest that the form should run fairly true and that the run of Levanti, a clear new peak for him, was no fluke.

The next race throws up a promising last start winner in Yesterday’s Songs, and he is plenty interesting, but the market hasn’t missed him and the better gamble may just be the other horse in the field sporting the Timeform ‘p’ in Baligari.

He’ll certainly need to step up, with plenty more on his plate today, but he scored handsomely in Adelaide last time and has solid claims on that form.

Lord Of The Sky is out to build on his ever-growing reputation in the Monash Stakes and while he is undoubtedly a talent at current odds he is seen as one best left through to the keeper.

He’s seen as the most likely winner but we have him marked at 2.9, leaving him making little appeal at the 2.25 currently floating about.
