Early mail and best exotic plays for Randwick on July 12 from racing editor Chris Scholtz.
RANDWICK SATURDAY
RACE 3: (6) MISS HUSSON: Queensland filly lands in Sydney off a strong build up to this distance in four Group and Listed races at the Brisbane carnival. Rattled late for a strong second in Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) at last start and should relish going to 2000m on the strength of her win over the talented Amexed at her only attempt at this distance range last December. Her early odds look generous as she is well placed in this company with significant weight advantage over the favoured pair Pajaro and The Alfonso.
RACE 5 (8) LAIDBACK LARRY: Has built the impressive record of five wins from 11 starts, rising easily through the class early in the season before taking on Group level at the Victorian spring carnival. He’s unbeaten on his home track at Randwick, has won three from four at this distance and as the only obvious leader in this field is set to kick off a new campaign in style after two excellent efforts in recent trials.
RACE 6 (5) ADORABEEL: Joe Pride inherits this talented mare from the Walter stable in the right form to record a win for her new stable. She will be at her peak for this trip after closing late for excellent second to the talented Romantic Moon over 1500m at Rosehill. This BM80 is no harder and there looks to be genuine pace in this field to suit her run on style.
