L’ectrecote looks well placed to end Wingara’s winning streak when stepping out in the Russ Maddock Memorial Benchmark 75 Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Stepping up to the mile for the first time last start, the Kelly Schweida-trained runner was carried wide at the 1200m, and ran wide thereafter but still managed to finish within 2L off the winner when 9th.

Form prior to that was good, running second over 1400m in open company at this course, after jumping awkwardly and looks well placed in this company.

Despite being up in the weights (59kg), apprentice jockey Bridget Grylls goes on board and claims 3kg and despite only having had the one start over 1600m, he got to the line pretty well after a tough run last start.

From barrier 6, expecting L'ectrecote gelding to settle around midfield and despite taking on the in form Wingara looks tough to go past in this at $3.30.

Earlier in the day Villamill steps out in a fairly open fair but has been racing well in recent times and should go well in this company.

Won a Quality at Grafton two back before a midfield finish behind Big Money in the Listed Ramornie Hcp.

That form reads pretty well for this and she rates well on what she has produced in recent times.

Takes on a big field but gets a much needed 3kg claim from apprentice jockey and the slight step up to 1300m should not pose any issues.

Likely to settle around midfield or even closer from barrier seven and with Kalandula and Lanieri the main dangers, the current price of $8.50 looks very good based on recent form.

Last week we had the two bets at Doomben with Harada Bay finding the line well to score a win in the Hervey Bay Hotel Class 6 Plate.

The son of Haradasun was as high as $6 but the scratching of Believe’n’receive shortened the price of Harada Bay into $2.60 favourite.

Earlier in the day Exellantes was unable to get the job done, running a close second to Discreet down in the weights.

Despite that result it was still a winning week, making it the second in a row. Lets hope we can continue this week.. Good Luck.
