Brisbane Best- August 9

Adebisi returns to Brisbane on Saturday and will look to continue his good form when stepping out in the Jade Apartments Handicap (1000m) at Eagle Farm.

The now seven-year-old gelding returned to winning form at Doomben two back over a similar trip, before heading south to finish runner up at Randwick two weeks ago over 1150m.

Adebisi (Race 3 #1) was not far away on that occasion and looks well suited here dropping back to the 1000m.

The Desleigh Forster-trained runner gets a much needed 3kg claim from apprentice jockey Samuel Payne who rode two starts back and he will go forward once again from barrier 9.

The son of Shovhog, who has won 11 of his 48 outings rates well clear on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and despite possessing a better record at Doomben should be hard to hold out in this.

There has been some talk around Forster scratching Adebisi, due to the hard track conditions with a big weight and should this happen, Mr Favulous who looks the main danger should prove too good for the rest of the field.

Earlier in the day the Tony Gollan-trained Hi Son (Race 2 #2) looks well placed to score a much deserved win having produced some pretty good form in recent times.

Disappointing at Doomben last start when displaying a poor post race recovery, but has a very good record over this trip and his third placing in listed company three starts back rates very well in this.

Fifth up now, Hi Son should be at peak fitness and at the current price of $5 looks very generous in this company.

Last week was yet another winning day in the Sunshine State making it three profitable weeks in a row.

L’entrecote who was our bet of the day got the chocolates paying $2.80 whilst our each way play Villamill ran into second paying $2.80 for the place.

Let’s hope we can keep that form going for another week, good luck.
