L’entrecote pulled away for an impressive win last start and looks hard to go past once again at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Kelly Schweida-trained runner (Race 3 #4) followed up some handy form with a good win over this C/D last start and staying over the mile looks to suit again.

Leading jockey Jim Byrne, who has a good record on the four-year-old goes back on board and from barrier 4 expect him to not be far away in the run.

L’entrecote, who has won five of his 12 career starts rates clear on weight adjusted Timeform ratings and if he runs up to what he produced last time out will be very hard to hold out.

Just one race later, Villamill (Race 4 # 2) will look to build on her good recent form and is likely to appreciate the step up to 1400m.

The six-year-old mare followed up a good run for sixth in listed company at Grafton with a close second placing here last start and with a good record over 1400m looks an each way play at $8.

Apprentice jockey Matthew McGuren stays on board and claims 3kg off the allotted 56kg and from barrier 1 she is likely to not be far away throughout.

With the light weight, the Peter Ball-trained runner should be running on strongly over the final stages and looks a very good each way bet once again as she did here two weeks ago when $7.

Last week saw our play of the day Adebisi run fourth whilst the each way play Hi Son finished second after having the race laid on for him.

L’entrecote did the job for us two weeks ago as our play of the day and in this company looks well placed to do it once again to get us back on track. Good luck.
