Brisbane Best- March 7

3 minute read

Aghamore has been racing in good form of late and looks well placed when stepping out at Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

The Todd Howlett-trained runner has won two of his last three starts and when very good when winning by 3.3L at Doomben last start over 1350m.

Goes up only slightly in trip today to 1400m and winning jockey Tim Bell remains on board.

From barrier 12, would expect Aghamore (Race 7 #5) to push forward as he did last start and despite taking on a competitive field looks very hard to beat if he can reproduce his last start effort.

The five-year-old gelding should be at peak fitness now fifth up from a spell and possesses a very handy career record.

The likes of The Peak and Gully Command shape up as the main dangers however it’s tough to knock winning form and Aghamore looks very well placed in this company.

Earlier in the day, My Quilter (Race 3 #1) will appreciate the drop back in class, having run well in listed company at Doomben last start.

Stays over the mile for this and form this campaign has been very consistent in similar company over the mile.

Sairyn Fawke who is undefeated from two rides goes back on board and claims a much needed 3kg off the allotted 60kg.

Returns to his home course where he has a very good record and the current price of $6.50 looks very good based on what he has produced of late.

Backs up quickly into this and from the good draw would expect him to be up on the speed again today and will take plenty of running down.

Has been up for a while now but continues to race well and the current price of $6.50 looks good odds for a horse in form.

Last week saw our bet of the day Vodnik run a very disappointing race at Doomben but he could turn things around backing up into this week. The each way play Lady Jetsetter ran very well for second

Good Luck!
