It is Morphettville Guineas day on the weekend but we are going for two horses emanating from the same barrier trial.
First of them is the good four year old Lord Aspen who returns in a BM90 over 1200m.
Down in the weights on Saturday, he charged home in a recent barrier trial over 1000m here.
This horse in his first real campaign won a Listed Race at Flemington over the carnival last season then was a close fifth in the Sandown Guineas.
He has more ability than many of these and as a horse on the rise is worth backing against some who’ve had a few chances.
In the race prior, looking for some value in the form of Brave Journey in the BM82 sprint.
There is so much speed in this race and she can get a lovely run just off the pace.
Her first up record is outstanding but she finished last campaign suffering from cardiac arrhythmia.
After a nice break to get over that, her trial (holding off Lord Aspen) was excellent at this venue and she is well placed with the mares allowance.
