The scratching of Peace Force has left the door open for Weinholt in the Lough Neagh Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.
The Peter Moody-trained runner has been racing well in Melbourne of late and proved too good form Gallant Harmony over the 1200m at Ballarat last start.
The five-year-old gelding rates well against these on what he has produced in recent times and goes up to the 1350m for this.
Should get a fairly good run around midfield from barrier 4 and Glen Boss will take the ride for the first time.
Fifth up now should be at his peak and the current price of $3.50 looks a good bet with his current form.
Saluter and Fontelina shape up as the main dangers but expect Weinholt to be getting to the line strongly.
Earlier in the program Mr Favulous (Race 2 #3) will look to build on a good first up win at this C/D last time out.
Won’t find this any tougher today and apprentice jockey goes on board to claim a much needed 3kg.
Possesses a handy record when second up previously and from barrier 8 would expect him to go forward again today and take plenty of running down.
The seven-year-old gelding does his best racing over this trip and he certainly appears to have come back in very good order.
The current price of $7.50 looks a good each way bet for a horse with his form and would expect him to be fighting out the finish.
Good luck!
