The Daniel Harrison trained Universal Moon has displayed plenty of ability in her short career and remains a big watch fresh at Ascot on Saturday.
Set to contest the seventh event, the daughter of Universal Ruler has only missed the money once in seven starts which came when fifth behind the talented Silverstream.
On that occasion she wasn't beaten all that far and the race notably produced four subsequent winners. Her performance prior to a break held plenty of merit when returning a new career peak and she is yet to miss the money fresh.
With a number of gallopers tipped to roll forward (Kennocha, Good Morning, Macrawfys Hope, Roger The Roman, Onadowntowntrain, Hurricane Hound, Shostakovich and Fortius Quo Vadis), Universal Moon should have no concerns making up ground from the back.Early markets have her marked a 3-1 chance which presents plenty of value given we have marked short of 2-1.
Using Timeform weight adjusted ratings she sits clear of her rivals and given she does get the pace angle to suit, she should prove hard to beat. The Listed Miss Andretti Stakes sees eight gallopers line up over the 1100m journey, though it appears a race in two between First Among Equals and Lucky Street.
The former returned in great order and with further improvement expected, confident she can turn the tables on the latter. As much as 4-1 was offered about her chances which to no surprise was quickly snapped up.
Now marked at 7-2, she still appears good value and more than happy to take the price on offer.Admittedly the pace angle plays in favour of Lucky Street, however given First Among Equals looks to have more upside at this point in their respective campaigns, happy to side her way.
