Best From The West - March 12

3 minute read

The Brian Kersley trained All Gee takes another step up in grade on Saturday but appears more than capable of taking that next step in the sixth event.

Successful in breaking through for his maiden win at Bunbury two back the son of Fath went on to confirm that figure when too strong at Pinjarra last start.

A noted on-speed runner, All Gee returned decent time figures against the bare form and has a 1.5L margin up his sleeve.

Admittedly he will need to utilise that winning margin to bring up the hat-trick on the weekend however he again gets the pace angle to suit and is clearly a three-year-old heading in the right direction.

As much as 7-2 was offered about his chances early doors with 2-1 now the best price around town.

In his favour on Saturday is the fact that a majority of his rivals have already reached their respective marks whereas All Gee still remains open to good improvement.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings his latest performance sees him rated top on 50 day figures and third on 12 month figures.

Given he now looks to build on that performance he looks to set a decent standard for his rivals.

If priced aggressively using Timeform predictive ratings we can get him quite short and hence happy to take the current price on offer.

With little speed engaged he should be able to find the front with relative ease and will no doubt give them all something to chase.

In the seventh event Grant Williams will saddle up promising filly Forever Diamonds — another decent betting opportunity.

An impressive winner first up at this C&D, Forever Diamonds was thrown in the deep end last start when midfield behind Dreamtime Dancer in the Listed Challenge Stakes.

A game performance nonetheless, she appears far better placed back against this company and with the Wizard linking back aboard she ticks a lot of boxes.

Respect the Simon Miller trained Corvara, however happy to stick with Forever Diamonds as she notably beat four subsequent winners two back, and in truth, she did it easily.

As a side note, TopBetta will offer a minimum of $22K for Australian Cup Day and while Ascot won't play a part it is definitely worth checking out - Click Here .
