It is Easter and so we head to the famous Oakbank carnival.
In the long flat race over the weekend, it would only take Celtic Prince to recapture anything of his best to be winning.
You can tell it is a weak race with only two horses above the limit weight and those lower rated horses are horribly in on the benchmarks with the 54 minimum.
He lost a plate and did struggle after that in the Adelaide Cup but his run to Signoff in the Lord Reims was full of merit.
The 3kg claim is just so important as this is basically just a jumper’s flat. He’s had a couple of jumps trials around here in recent times which benefits too.
The first Heat of the SA Sprint Series will be competitive and so we are going to speck that Edgewood can show his wares given he’s been based in SA for a while.
His runs in the Spring were OK but this is easier than those and some of his better efforts come off breaks.
This is a perfect distance to resume at and also hope to run on. He too has the advantage of a 3kg claim and we think he’s value.
