It is Derby day at Morphettville with the 3yos taking centre stage. Good luck finding the winner of the G1.
However we are heading in a different direction for our plays.
After we got ridiculously good odds in the end in the Nitschke Stakes, why not go again on Peaceful State in the Adelaide Guineas.
His finishing speed was helped by the tempo of that race but boy was there some finishing speed.
With the potential of a trip to Queensland in the wings, you’d want him continuing the form and he has ratings points galore on his rivals but gets to carry set weights.
Against this line up, happy to have him as the first leg of multis anywhere in the land as he’s a very nice young horse.
Let’s take him into Split Lip to also win again.
From a stable that keeps horses up for a long time, this filly was excellent coming from beyond midfield over 1100m three weeks back.
Last campaign she contested stronger races during the Melbourne carnival with the form out of those events standing up during the Autumn.
Not too concerned about the barrier as we saw last week in the Sangster – momentum is far more important from the dogleg start than covering ground.
There are a lot of horses out of the handicap here whereas she is not that badly placed.
