Mister Yeoh To Bounce Back At Kranji

3 minute read

Mister Yeoh looks well placed second up when he steps out in the Kranji Stakes C (1200m) in Singapore today.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner was a touch disappointing first up when third in a Class 2 last start, beaten a length by Marine Treasure when a short favourite.

Mister Yeoh claimed the Group 2 Three Year Old Classic last campaign over 1400m before running midfield in the Group 1 Lion City Cup after jumping the favourite.

The four-year-old gelding has trialled since his last effort when running fourth in a very strong field and this looks a very winnable race today.

Mister Yeoh has drawn nicely in barrier 3 and should settle just off the leaders with a few of these to push forward and set a solid tempo.

Kerrin McEvoy who is riding as part of the international jockey challenge today goes on board and if Mister Yeoh runs up to anything near his best he will be too strong for these.

Imperium returned with a win in a Class 4 Non Premier over 1100m on the polytrack last start but probably did not win as easily as expected.

The Michel Clements-trained runner was very consistent in his debut campaign but this shapes up as a tougher task for him today although he should appreciated getting back on the turf and stepping up to 1200m.

Scored his maiden win when second up last campaign over this C/D and with just the six starts to his name you would expect him to have more improvement to come.

Likely to settle off the speed from barrier eight and if he can take some improvement from his first up effort he will be right in the finish today.

Ettijah will also be looking to improve off his first up effort when running fourth to Yulong Xiongyin in a Class 3 over 1100m on the polytrack last start.

The Michael Clements-trained runner did look a chance at one point in the straight but first up off a decent spell did not have the fitness to challenge late.

Should strip much fitter today and he did win on the turf over this trip on debut last year.

Local favourite Joao Moreira takes the ride and from the middle draw should get a nice run throughout.

Chocante was very good first up when third and will need to make significant improvement to be winning today but would not be surprised to see him in the mix with Vlad Duric on board.

Good luck!
