Race 6: Thirsty Guest

Although firm public elect Aviatress was able to live up to market support, this was a deep BM76 that saw a few horses return to form somewhere near their best. Thirsty Guest from the Dan Clarken & Oopy Macgillivray stable was certainly one of those, rattling home from the tail to fill the frame. One of the clear sectional stars of the day, the five-year-old returned just shy of his peak on the RAW Racing and Sports ratings. Resuming short of a preferred trip, this son of So You Think will be looking to swiftly get out in trip in proceeding runs, preferably over a mile, if not mile-and-a-half. Looking ahead on the calendar, the Murray Bridge Gold Cup (1600m) on October 12 looks the perfect next step for the gelding. Three weeks between runs, Thirsty Guest already has the peaks to match most recent winners Jacks On Ice, Agreeable and Regalo Di Gaetano. We expect to see him there.
