Damien Oliver produced a peach of a ride to win another Perth Cup.
The favourite Black Tycoon ($5) was ridden patiently by Damien Oliver and travelled comfortably midfield on the rails most of the way to the home turn.
He was full of running but was behind a wall of horses turning in to the straight. Oliver steered him skillfully between runners from the 200m and he burst on the scene in the closing stages to grab a narrow but impressive last-stride win.
God has Spoken was well back in 12th place to the 600m. He was under riding and fanned wide rounding the home turn before coming with a late run for a very good second, beaten a short head.
Ask Me Nicely travelled well midfield (three deep with cover) from the 800m. He challenged strongly at the 200m and looked a winning chance before fighting on for a good third.
