Generalife settled in fifth place, one off the rails, travelling well. He switched out to make his run coming to the 300m and sprinted quickly to take the lead at the 200m.

He then drew clear to record a two and quarter length win and looks set to progress to even better things.

The favourite Bennetta followed the eventual winner, racing in seventh place, one off the rails.

She was under riding at the 300m and kept battling on, a bit one-paced, getting up to take second without ever looking a threat to the winner.

The French-bred stayer He’s Your Man was second last in the ten-horse field to the home turn.

He went to the centre of the track at the 300m and made good ground in the latter stages for a most encouraging first-up third.

Oakfield Commands had a good trip, fourth on the rails before getting a split at the 300m. He went to third at the 200m but only battled from that point to finish (3.6 lengths) fourth.
