Mulaqen wins 2014 City Tattersalls Club Cup Listed $100,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo+, 2406m.
Mulaqen was used up to lead from his wide barrier crossing to take the fence after the first turn out of the home straight. He was rated well in front by Blake Shinn before quicken the pace approaching the home turn. He nursed him into the home straight before breaking well clear at the 250m having enough in hand to score well. A great front running ride.
La Amistad came from fifth one off the fence. She commenced a three wide move from the 650m before cornering four wide. She worked home solidly at one pace to grab second on the line.
Disclaimer enjoyed a nice run in third position on the fence behind the leader. He switched out three wide into the clear on the point of the bend. He finished on gamely but tired a little late on, not being able to hold of the late lunge of La
Amistad on his outside.
