Tarloshan wins 2014 Kingston Park Just Now Qlty Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD) Fillies & Mares, 1350m.
Tarloshan as a little slow to move but soon recovered to settle in fourth place, behind the leading trio. She got a rails run on turning for home, took the lead at the 200m and went on to win with something in hand by a length and a half. It was her fifth win from only nine starts and she looks to have potential to add further to her already good record while in Queensland.
Breakfast In Bed settled back in tenth place from her wide barrier (11). She improved between runners rounding the home turn, finally got into the clear at the 200m and then ran on resolutely for a sound second.
The Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Tinto, having her second run this preparation, remained in third last place in the 14-horse field to the turn. She saved ground along the rails rounding the home turn and went right through (via the rails) to second at the 100m before fighting on for a good third with her top weight (59.5kg).
The favourite, the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Commanding Wit enjoyed a good trip, fifth one off the rails. She moved up well at the home turn and looked the winner at the 250m but she wilted on that effort for a disappointing seventh, beaten four lengths.
