Big Money wins 2014 Garrards Lough Neagh Stakes Listed $175,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1350m.
Highly consistent Big Money continued on his winning ways now taking his record to nine wins from 15 starts. He was smartly away and settled just behind the leaders in third place on the rails. Robert Thompson switched him three wide to challenge on straightening, he hit the lead at the 100m and went on to win quite comfortably despite his top weight (59.5kg) in another smart performance.
Whiskey Allround began smartly, went to the lead and travelled well. He shook off a challenge, got a break on turning for home and fought on well for (length) second but found the winner (who conceded him 5.5kg) too good in the latter stages.
Cum Dividend was sixth one off the rails to the 600m. He was under pressure at the 200m but kept running on quite well from that point to take a sound third.
Someday was fourth, one out and one back, he put in a brief run on turning for home but then just kept battling on to finish (1.6 lengths) fourth.
Cape Kidnappers blundered shortly after the start, dislodging Damien Brown, and tailed the field.
