Chautauqua wins 2015 Schweppes Rubiton Stakes Group 2 $200,000 at Caulfield (VIC) , 1100m.
Chautauqua was ridden quietly as usual, being heldup in eighth place, between runners. Dwayne Dunn eased him across heels and the 300m and he then ran on strongly. He hit the lead at the 50m and went on for a narrow but impressive first-up win.
Flamberge was a handy third, but trapped three wide. He went to the front at the 250m and was only headed nearing the 50m for a very good first-up second.
Atmospherical was fourth, between runners, got a split at the 300m and kept fighting on quite well for a sound
third.Missy Longstocking was a handy sixth, three wide with cover. She switched out at the 300m and battled on in good style for (3.7 lengths) fourth while Richie’s Vibe made ground from last at the turn to finish (5 lengths) fifth.
