Furnaces wins 2015 Widden Kindergarten Stakes Group 3 $ 200,000 at Randwick (NSW) 2yo, 1100m,
Furnaces began well and settled in fourth place, one out and one back, following a good pace. He switched out topping ‘the rise’, hit the front at the 150m and battled strongly to win comfortably by a half-length.
Regatta Rebel raced outside the leader (Redzel), challenged at the 200m and fought gamely for (half-length) second in a bold debut effort.
Redzel led to the 200m and battled on quite well for third, beaten a length and a quarter.
Magic Diamond raced behind the leader and held on for (1.5 lengths) fourth.
Meteora Miss made some ground from near last for (3 lengths) fifth going quite well on debut.
Sooboog was sixth on the rails but was under pressure from the 600m and raced below expectations in the Heavy 9 conditions in finishing (6 lengths) sixth.
