Content to be three wide in fifth, with the rail being off, Consensus ranged to lead at the entrance to the straight and found plenty in the run home to record a narrow but gallant victory.
The race favourite No Tricks, having tracked the winner throughout, peeled to her outside to mount a stern challenge at the 300m and following a battle was only just denied.
The first two had a margin over third placed Belle Miraaj, who was off the trail and vying for the lead at the 400m, and Choice ran home solidly for fourth.
