Amanpour wins 2015 Queen Of The Turf Group 1 $1 Million at Randwick (NSW) 3yo+ Fillies & Mares, 1600m.
Amanpour, having her third run this preparation and stepping up to 1600m, when straight to the front from her good barrier (3). She grabbed a good break on turning for home and went on to win in good style by almost two lengths.
Catkins had a perfect trip, after a quick beginning, in third place on the rails. She went to second to straightening but found the winner too good and fought on for (1.8 lengths) second.
Noble Protector settled in fifth place, but was caught three wide without cover. She moved up well (deep) rounding the home turn and kept running on soundly to just miss second in a photo after a wide trip.
Intimate Moment settled in seventh place on the rails from her good barrier (2). She got through along the rails to third at the 200m before fighting on for (2.9 lengths) fourth.
Cosmic Endeavour was sixth between runners and held on for fifth (3.8 lengths).
Favourite First Seal was back in ninth place, between runners, she switched deep and into clear running on straightening and ran on reasonably well for (4.8 lengths) sixth.
