Classcoroc wins 2015 Winning Edge Hawke’s Bay Cup Group 3 NZ$ 75,000 at Hastings (NZ) , 2200m.
After jumping away well from a wide gate, Classcoroc worked up outside the leader with a lap to run. She took over on the bridle at the 800m before kicking to a three length advantage passing the 250m and although tiring she held on for a narrow victory.
Getting closest to her at the line, Rose of Virginia had received an economical run in midfield on the rail and she unwound a strong finish once clear at the 250m to dead-heat for second.
Alongside her at the line, Mako was patiently ridden in the rearward trio, despite drawing barrier one and he too rounded off solidly after sighting daylight inside the 200m.
Blathwayt, Storming the Tower, and Langdon were next to finish and all produced notable finishes.
