Black Vanquish wins 2015 Thoroughbred Club Cup Listed $120,000 at Caulfield (VIC) 2yo, 1200m.
Black Vanquish travelled particularly well in third place, behind a good tempo (first 600m 35.00). He moved up well rounding the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then fought back well, lasting to win by a short neck.
Payroll was last in the ten-horse field to the 600m. She commenced a wide run nearing the home turn and went to the centre of the track on straightening. She then continued to run on strongly, getting to within a short neck of the winner for a very good second.
Pearl Star was just beyond midfield before switching between runners on straightening. She then made up good ground to finish a close-up third, putting up a very good effort.
