Kuro wins 2015 Ipg Connect Mick Dittman Plate Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD) 3yo, 1200m.
Kuro put up a good effort to win. He was forced to work hard in the early stages from his wide barrier (13) and after almost crossing to the front, settled outside the leader (Miss Cover Girl). He challenged that runner strongly in the straight, got to the front at the 100m and then lasted to win well by a long neck.
Sarajevo settled back in tenth place, improved (wide with cover) at the 600m, got to fourth at the 200m and kept running on well for second.
Deiheros was smartly away from his inside barrier (1), settled third on the rails, looked a threat at the 100m and then fought on for a close-up third.
Rekindled Power was near last to the 600m, fanned deep on turning for home and caught the eye, running on late for (0.9 lengths) fourth.
Favourite Miss Cover Girl showed good pace to lead, was challenged in front but regained the lead at the 600m and fought gamely in the straight before tiring late for (2.2 lengths) fifth.
