Solicit wins 2015 The 2015 Darley Crown Group 3 $150,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo+Fillies & Mares, 1300m.
Solicit scored her first win since taking out the Kewney Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) at Flemington in March last year. She began well and then settled in fifth place, between runners. She looked to be under pressure on turning for home but kept fighting on and lifted from the 50m to score by a long head.
Peace Force raced back in seventh place, improved (wide with cover) at the 700m. She switched out to make her run at the 300m, got to a narrow lead at the 50m but was grabbed on the post by her stablemate to finish second.
Calming Influence went to the front, appeared to be going well rounding the home turn and held a good break until headed nearing the 100m to finish a sound third.
Favourite Peron was midfield but wide early on. She moved up (three wide without cover) from the 800m and looked the winner when she challenged at the 200m but she then faded a bit on that effort, after a wide trip, to finish (1.3 lengths) fourth.
