La Amistad wins 2015 Andrew Ramsden Stakes Listed $200,000 at Flemington (VIC), 3200m.
La Amistad was taken back to last and settled well in the run about 20 lengths off the leader Lucciola who ran along in front. She commenced a three wide move from the 1200m before tracking up Vatuvei six and seven wide and then taking the home turn on the outside, closing in on Lucciola who turned for home in the clear. She hit the front at the 200m and stayed on strongly to score a good win.
Sonntag settled in eighth position one of the fence travelling well in the run. He made a move four and five wide from the 800m between horses. He had clear running in the straight and stayed on at one pace to grab second right on the line.
Zabeelionaire settled in seventh position on the fence and stayed closer to the inside on turning to the inside. He was held up between runners gaining clear running at the top of the straight. He stayed on gamely just missing out on second.
Lucciola was very game in defeat. She set a good pace in front and turned clearly for home and stayed on gamely to just miss third. A good effort considering the extra work she did in front.
