Shiraz wins 2015 Concorde Stakes Group 3 $125,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo+, 1000m.
Shiraz continued his good form, remaining unbeaten in four runs the preparation. He was handily placed in third spot (but deep without cover) following a good pace. Hugh Bowman rode him patiently, putting in a bid on passing the 300m to hit the front at the 100m. He then went on to win quite impressively.
Craftiness raced outside the leader (his stablemate, Ball Of Muscle), was under riding at the 300m but kept responding well, fighting on for a good first-up second.
Ball Of Muscle went straight to the front and looked to be travelling well when to grabbed a clear break at the 300m but faded suddenly from the 50m to finish third at his first run since 30 May.
Aeronautical was second last in the nine-horse field to the 600m and made ground without threatening for fourth.
