Allez Eagle wins 2015 Linwood Park G R Kelt Memorial Group 3 NZ$70,000 at Hastings (NZ), 1400m.
Allez Eagle camped off the rails behind the two leaders into the turn and around the corner then made a sharp move before straightening to challenge for the lead with 400m to run. At the 250m, co-leader Ryan Mark pulled slightly ahead but Allez Eagle maintained his run to grab a narrow lead just short of the post in a driving finish to win.
Recite had a beautiful run in fourth, on the rail just behind the leaders and on Allez Eagle’s inner. She found room once Allez Eagle passed her and made a determined run out in the middle of the track. She stalled slightly then found more to make a good run at the winner, failing by a head.
Ryan Mark did all the work in front and when challenged by the winner, fought tenaciously, only losing second in the last two strides.
