Amovatio wins 2015 Weekend Hussler Stakes Listed $120,000 at Caulfield (VIC), 1400m.
Amovatio drew widest and was last into stride but drifted inwards to find the rails down the back. Passing just one runner by the 600m, Amovatio hugged the rails and waited. As the field straightened, he had nowhere to go and his chances were no better into the final 200m. A gap, three off the rails, finally presented itself at the 100 and he grabbed the bit and accelerated between the leaders to win narrowly but well.
Favourite, The Bowler, was wide around the turn and into the straight. He ranged up to Tristram’s Sun at the 200m and they fought all the way to the finish with The Bowler bobbing his head on the line for a fighting second.
Tristram's Sun had a perfect run, one out and one back before they turned in and ranged up to challenge the leaders past the 200m and looked the winner but was outgunned in the last 50m, just losing second on the line.
Richie's Vibe was locked up at the 200m and flew at them late for an unlucky fourth.
