Vavasour wins 2015 Skycity Hamilton Waikato Cup Group 3 NZ$100,000 at Te Rapa (NZ), 2400m.
Vavasour was taken forward to settle in second position on the quarters of the leader Saint Emilion. She put pressure on the leader at the 700m with the first two making their moves for home very early and turning for home well clear of the rest of the field. Vavasour ranged up and hit the front at the 200m before staying on strongly to score to prove far the better in an impressive staying performance.
The Tidy Express raced in fifth position on the fence. He came under pressure well before the home turn and stayed on at one pace to grab second in a tight three-way finish for the minor placings.
