Straturbo wins 2016 South Pacific Laundry Bribie Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1050m.
The Gary Portelli-trained sprinter Straturbo put up a good effort to win here. He was quickly away and then eased to settle in third place, travelling close to a strong tempo before switching out to challenge on turning for home. He raced to the front at the 100m and then went on to win well in smart time.
The nine-year-old Steel Zip settled back in tenth place, got between runners at the 200m and then ran on nicely for second.
Hard Stride went to the front but was pressured in the lead (by The Storeman). He was only overtaken coming to the 100m and then held on well for third after working in the early stages.
