Cantbuybetter wins 2017 Singapore T.C Members’ Hcp Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1600m.
A solid early pace combined with a canny ride by Jeff Lloyd, set up a nice win by Cantbuybetter, who from barrier nine was able to take up a lovely spot, one back, behind the pace. When the tempo quickened prior to straightening, Cantbuybetter hugged the fence and when the leader edged away from the rail a huge gap opened and he shot through. Once in the lead he raced away to win easily.
Emphasis tracked the winner (rails) to the turn, got the split at the 200m and ran on best of the rest for second.
Jumbo Prince was shuffled back to third last turning in, threaded between runners and ran on strongly late to grab third, the first three home all trained at Toowoomba.
Sheiswhatsheis set the pace, was passed at the 300m but held on well for fourth.
