Bidii Babe wins 2017 Qa Hotel Bright Shadow Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1200m.
The Rob Heathcote-trained mare Bidii Babe followed her promising first up fourth in the Silk Stocking Stakes (Listed, 1200m) at the Gold Coast on 6 May with a really good win here. She settled back in tenth place, before improving well (between runners) approaching the home turn. She angled deeper at the 200m and the came with a strong finish to grab a narrow but smart win.
The favourite Untamed Diamond settled in fifth place (wide), was under riding on turning for home, responded shortly afterwards to challenge at the 200m and then battled gamely for a close second.
Dee Nine Elle showed good pace from her inside barrier (1) to lead. She looked the winner when she took a clear advantage on turning for home, only being caught in the closing stages for a close up third.
