Celebrity Dream wins 2017 Crown Perth-Jungle Classic Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA), 1200m.
Consistent five-year-old mare Celebrity Dream took her record to six wins and four placings in 13 starts in taking out her first stakes success here. She was ridden quietly by William Pike from her wide barrier (10) and settled second last in the 11-horse field.
She went deep on turning for home and then sprinted well to hit the front at the 50m before going on to win comfortably.
Volkoff raced back in sixth place, but deep. She improved well nearing the home turn, briefly took the lead at the 100m and then fought on well for a good second after racing wide.
Top Of The Class raced back in eighth place, between runners, got a late split at the 100m and then finished well for an unlucky third in a promising first up effort.
