Race 8: Deepfloat Diva
After a disappointing return at headquarters four weeks ago, Deepfloat Diva bounced back to somewhere near his best on Saturday. Running to 87 on the Racing and Sports scale, only two pounds below his best, the R & C Jolly runner made relatively light work of his rivals when scoring by a length in the penultimate race. Happy to sit off the pace in the early stages, Jake Toeroek whipped around the field approaching the home-turn and quickly put pay to them when unleashing a strong dash home down the centre of the track to score, rattling off the meeting's fastest last 400m in the process (22.60). Knowing there's more under the bonnet, there's more joy just around the corner for Deepfloat Diva.
